Shoe Box Project

The 2018 Holiday

The Shoebox Project for Women, supported by Dream, collects and distributes gift-filled Shoeboxes to women impacted by homelessness in communities across Canada and the US.  Each thoughtfully created and decorated Shoebox is filled with items valued at $50 that can enhance self-esteem and reduce feelings of isolation for women in need.

The RGSA participated last year and it was a huge success! The RGSA believes in giving back to the community and that is why we are excited to be a part of the Shoebox Project for the second year.

If you would like to be a part of this amazing project, you can drop off your shoebox donation at Hugh Boyd on December 4th and 5th from 6-8pm.  Find us under the red tent near the basketball courts and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate too! Below are some ideas for items to include in your shoebox and also items to avoid.  Consider having a team event to shop for or wrap your shoe boxes together!

When creating your shoebox, please remember to wrap the bottom and top separately, or use a decorative box that you don't have to wrap, because each shoebox must be inspected.  Please don't use bows since they get ruined in transit. We'll also be accepting individual items that we can use to create shoeboxes. All donations are greatly appreciated.
